THE BIG DILEMMA

Our church is doing a series of sermons during Lent focusing on World Hunger. This Wednesday covered Jesus telling his disciples, at the sermon on the mount, "you give them something to eat".  Jesus is showing his disciples the true way to be a christian, we are to act without thought and help those in need.  There are many in need of food, both for the body and the soul.  We can reach out through Foods Resource Bank, World Hunger, Crop Walk, Local food pantries, and support your church and its outreach for food for the needy souls, but there is so much more.  My own December 12 post said I support FRB because it's easy, that's THE BIG DILEMMA.  Jesus didn't say "feed who you can as long as it's easy".  The meager supply of bread and fish given to the disciples is the same as our challenges today.  Jesus never promised us or his disciples that  being his follower would be easy, yet  as humans we always look for the easiest way.  We admire the man who invented the wheel because we want things easy.  Jesus didn't take the easy way when he suffered on the cross for us.  This Easter let us remember what it is to be his follower, and act like one all year.
