HARVEST CELEBRATION

This years harvest celebration is to be held on October 15th 2011 at the farm of Randy and Judy Rosengren, located northeast of Illinois route 23 and 52, Ottawa Il.(watch for FRB signs).  We sincerely thank them for hosting this event again.  We expect over 500 guests to participate in the events planned, starting with a worship service at 10:00, that represents all 21 churches and 9 denominations that are working together to solve world hunger through this project.  The day will continue with many fun activities for the family.  PLEASE CLICK ON THE HAND PRINT BANNER ABOVE FOR A SLIDE SHOW OF LAST YEARS ACTIVITIES.
Harvest is underway throughout the corn belt and reports of below average yields are common this year.  The reasons range from too much rain in the early part of the growing season in the eastern portions, not enough rain and high temperatures when corn kernels were developing in the southern portions, and early frost in the northern portions.  You will have the opportunity to see first hand field results by joining us on combine rides while they harvest the corn at this event.  If you have not contributed to our project yet come and learn what we are doing and see how you can help.  Together we expect to raise $45,000 this year that will be used in World Hunger programs overseas.
