Usda reports come out again today and many expect to show more acres planted but as before there is an increase in acres in states like Arkansas. They have just been labeled as in extreme drought conditions. Central Missouri recorded 107 degrees yesterday. Corn is in a critical stage of development. Rain events are in the forecast but with that high of temperature stress on the corn irreparable harm is already done. For many farmers in the Missouri, central Illinois, Indiana and southern areas it has gone not from bad to worse, but worse to Heaven help them. I believe that the real story is the drought and not planted acres or chance of scattered rain that will controll the markets later as crops develop. Pray that some relief comes from rain and cooler weather as we will need at least some areas of very good yeilds to produce for the world. Dean
P.S. Just in report shows 96.4 million acres planted what is not known is how many will be harvested if dry and hot continues.
