This field was planted May 13. Picture on left taken June 13th and picture on right June 24th.
For the local Church members this is one of the acres being supported by your pledge and all proceeds then go to the FRB project. This has just "covered the row" once the corn gets 5 leaves the growth rate on warm days really explodes as these pictures show. This field has been fortunate to have not received as heavy of rainfall as many.
For the other readers: The corn here in northern Illinois is looking great as is most of the eastern corn belt. Southern Illinois, northern Iowa, and southern Minnesota are the spots that will have unplanted, water stressed, and flooded out corn. Lets all keep them in your prayers. Although those regions will be much below in harvested acres and yields the rest of the country and other countries will be producing more. There should not be a shortage as last year when very little rain fell plus being hit with extreme temperatures.
Serving together, Dean
