Yes just 5 days left. I am in the field so making this short .
My soybeans were extremely good averaged 69 bu/acre the good august weather helped tremendously. Thanks again for your prayers on the weather.
My corn is very erratic some fields are producing 1/2 of their best year while others are 75-80% of normal. (my region is much better than many).
I noticed that the wind damage to the corn occurring mid season did more to reduce yields than normal. Seems that it was just one more obstacle that the corn could not overcome. With the ground so hard and dry when the wind blew the corn over it broke some roots and without rain to regrow them it left the plant to wither and produce little to nothing, however a short distance away if the corn stayed upright it produced well.
Hope to see you on the 13th of Oct. There is much more information at http://elcastjohns.ctsmemberconnect.net/webpage-info.do?webPageId=332045&view=0&grpId=20039 ( One of the church partners ) about FRB, how to pledge support, what happens at the celebration, and more. Please visit their site. I cannot say it any better than they did and am itching to get back on the combine.
Serving Together, Dean Lundeen
